BUS INFORMATION
Fares increase on specific Essex County Council supported services from Monday 1st April 2024
From Monday 1st April 2024, the fares of those bus services operated under Essex County Council’s Gross Cost contracts (which are listed in the attachment titled ‘1st April 2024 Gross Cost Contracts’) are increasing in line with our Fees and Charges Policy which will be a 4.1% increase rounded to the nearest 10p. The reason for the rounding is so the fares are not sums like £3.14 which would cause more difficulty for passengers and bus drivers.
The Department for Transport’s (DfT) £2 single fare cap scheme remains in place until Tuesday 31st December 2024 for bus operators that are currently taking part.
Please note that concessionary bus pass holders and Park and Ride users will not be affected by this change.

On Monday 8th January, Councillors agreed on a modest increase of 35p per week for Band D residents of Hatfield Peverel’s share of the Council Tax, from April 2024.
This funding will support the Council in continuing to provide and maintain the following services and facilities:

The Government has set out plans to reduce carbon on our roads by phasing out the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030. Alongside this, Essex County Council has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 to help tackle climate change. In Essex, around half of all CO2e emissions are from transport and a shift towards electric vehicles is an important part of achieving the net zero goal and improving air quality, alongside the continued work to encourage more sustainable transport options. Essex has already seen a significant increase in the ownership of plug-in vehicles in recent years and there are over 300 registered public charging points. However, as we continue to make this shift, we need to go further, and it is predicted we will need up to 6,000 public charge points across the county by 2030. Essex can lead the way in shifting to safer, greener, healthier travel, but to do so, residents, businesses and visitors need access to a reliable, convenient, accessible and fairly priced network of electric vehicle charging points. Essex County Council’s Electric Vehicle Charge Point Strategy is the first step in making this happen, setting out a simple vision – the Right Charger in the Right Place. The British Gas Trust has launched a new Energy Support Fund to help British Gas customers in England, Wales and Scotland who are struggling to pay their energy bills. This fund, has been set up in response to the increasing cost of living and rising inflation, including Ofgem’s most recent price cap increase. Through the fund, thousands of eligible British Gas customers with fuel debt of £250 to £1,500, can apply for grants to help pay their energy bills over the coming months. The fund will remain open until all the money invested has been awarded. In addition, the Trust also runs the Individual and Families Debt Write Off Fund which is open to British Gas and non-British Gas customers with an energy debt between £250 and £1500.

- As shown a towel or similar to place over nose mouth
- When we carry out chest compressions air is released through the nose and mouth in droplet form, thus possible spread of infection, in this case Covid -19
- Remember we are trained as first aiders
- Check Danger, make sure area is safe to proceed
- Do not check air way or breathing
- Shake shoulders in normal manner
- Ask are you alright !
- No response call 999 inform the service of what is taking place and the patient may have Covid 19 follow instruction
